How to join AirForce X-Y-Group | Agniveer Vayu
Agnipath Scheme of Indian AirForce
Airforce Agniveer
Nationality : Should be an Indian Citizen.
Age Criteria : The minimum age limit for enrolment in IAF as an Agniveervayu is 17½ years as on date of enrolment and maximum age limit is 21 years as on date of enrolment. However, exact Date of Birth block as published in advertisement is to be followed.
Marital Status : Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu in IAF. Candidates will have to give a certificate of being “unmarried” at the time of enrolment. Agniveervayu will not be permitted to marry during their entire tenure of four years in the IAF. A candidate may be dismissed from service if he / she marries during his / her tenure or is found to be already married inspite of giving certificate of being “unmarried”.
Education Criteria :
(a) Science Subjects :-
Candidates should have passed Class 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Education Board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Or
Should have passed three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical / Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
Or
Should have passed two years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from State Education Boards/Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
(b) Other than Science Subjects:-
Should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Or
Passed two years vocational course from Educational Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Airforce Officer 10+2
Nationality : Should be an Indian Citizen.
An aspirant gets the opportunity to join IAF after completion of the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as the subjects, through National Defence Academy (NDA) entry. The details of the career prospects after completion of 10+2 is as follows:-

Nationality :Should be an Indian Citizen.
After completion of Graduation from a recognised university, entry into IAF will be through the following entries viz. through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) entry, through Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) entry and through NCC special entry respectively.

  • Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) conducted by IAF followed by Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview.
  • Short service commission in Technical Branch is for 10 years extendable by 4 years.
  • Final year/semester students can also apply for all entries. All such candidates should not have any present backlog and should have scored a minimum of 60% marks up to last semester/ year for which results have been declared at the time of applying/ AFSB testing.

ACCOUNTS BRANCH

  • Passed 10+2
  • The candidates should have done graduation in any of the following streams with minimum 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized University:-
  • B.Com Degree (min three years course)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
  • Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA
  • B.Sc. with specialization in Finance

Through the Army Cadet College Course, the IAF offers airmen with a minimum 10+2 education and who are younger than 27 years of age the chance to join the Army as commissioned officers.
